This Marcasite agate is a very unique material that exhibits “chunks” of marcasite suspended in an agate matrix. The brilliant, metallic marcasite occurs as brecciated pieces in a hard agate background. It is a bit messy to work with, but produces brilliant finished work.
The stone holds a combination of reddish-brown banded Agate with some white and translucent segments which holds a mass of granular metallic Pyrite. The reflective Pyrite give this stone an alluring, glittering appearance.
These ear plugs are made from Indonesian Marcasite, mined in Sumatera Island. We cut the chunks of it into slabs and we cut into plugs in our workshop located in Sukabumi, West Java, We source the raw stone from a mine 1,454.4km away from our location.
